Yes in theory, but in practice there won't be many of them.

In your case you should look at the rankings offered places last year, as that would already have taken account of anybody who had moved between the exam and the offers. For KES offers were made down to 125th ranked Southern boys - so at 73rd you are so far inside that figure that you really don't have to worry.

thank you both jamesdean and okanagan.
I hope that that history repeats itself this year.
Im not sure however, how they offer places down to the 125th Southern boys when there are only 81 places at KES :?:

Some will go to Alcester, some will go to independents, some will go to one of the Birmingham grammars, some will move out of the area ... The first 81 won't have all put KES as their first preference :)

Simple - Alcester is in the Southern area too, so some of the boys will apply there as their first choice. And some will apply for one of the Birmingham Schools, or an independent, in preference to any of the Warwickshire schools.

My DS will be catching the 16, which starts in Cov and goes to Stratford via the university. But I have no idea what time in the morning you would have to catch it in Cov! There must be a more direct route - http://www.stagecoachbus.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a search facility.

The X15/X18 is the one you are looking for - but it leaves Coventry at 7.10/7.15  The Rugby schools, via train and then local bus, are actually quicker to get to from Coventry than Stratford is.

Thank you Okanagan for the info about the buses.
I think its going to be a bit of a marathon journey for DS to go on the buses, so may have to have a back up plan instead.
