For those (like me) wondering what happens next, I found this on the KES website under admissions:
The Headmaster will write to the parents of all successful applicants in April 2014 inviting them and their sons to meet with him at School. The letter will also contain details of the New Parents’ Evening which will be held on Wednesday 11th June 2014 and the Induction Day on Tuesday 24th June 2014.
If you have been refused a place at the School and you are planning to submit an appeal please contact the Warwickshire Admissions Service as they organise appeals on our behalf. The timetable for Year 7 Admissions appeals for King Edward VI School can be found at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/schoolappeals" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That looks really good - nothing like that on the AGS website unfortunately.
