Hello,

Just received a request for proof of address and don't have anything from group 2 to use! The only thing I could have used would be 'Child's National Health registration card' but given we don't live at the same address we did when DD was born the address is out of date. Thought I'd share this with the forum in case anyone else is in the same position. I've called the admission service who have said a letter from our GP surgery will suffice. Have just called ours and I have to write a letter requesting the info and they'll charge me for it.

What is in Group 2?

Group 2

Child benefit letter for the current financial year.

Child National Health registration card.

Child Tax Credit Award Notice for the current financial year.

that is a bit tricky - I'm think they are supposed to send out new NHS cards when you change address, I am pretty sure I got one
I know some people ask for child benefit letters but that can take time.
Might just have to get the letter from GP practice.

I haven't got anything from group 2 and my gp said they wouldn't write a letter confirming our address!! Called Admissions back and they said that I could send a bank statement in my DD name instead. She made a note of her agreeing this on our file.

So anyone else in the same position it is worth calling first to make sure they note what has been agreed. Now paranoid about this affecting her offer

When we moved last year and didn't get new nhs cards I called and was told that they no longer issue them. I don't know when that started as we only moved house last December.

Thanks for posting this. I was panicking about the same thing and it's good to know Admissions are being flexible. We moved to our current address 3 years ago and luckily I've just found a 'Confirmation of GP Registration' letter/card which apparently replaces the old-style medical card. Kipan, Rugbylady, perhaps the NHS (ours is from Coventry & Warks Primary Care Support, tel 0300 200 0017) can re-issue you with this, rather than you having to pay the GP?

I have a horrible feeling I didn't let the Child Benefit Agency know of our change of address (and even the one before that) - as the payments are made direct into your bank account, it's only now occurred to me that perhaps they do actually correspond with you by post sometimes...! I obviously need to get in touch about that but, as you say, letters from government depts can take some time, and WCC haven't given that long to supply the documents.

This is new .... No request here, just council tax ref when I signed DD up online ....

I am in the same predicament, don't have anything from group 2. I find it disgusting that the doctor's surgery would charge you for the letter.

I think you will find that most surgeries will charge for private work.
