Every child I know took the MFL, including everyone who took the 11+. There are roughly 275 grammar places in the town so is very likely that at least half of these will have a good MFL scote but won't use the place.

And virtually every boy I know who took the eleven plus passed so that should free up at least 15 places. It's a start but can't count chickens. I don't know if we find out about mfl place in March or not until d's starts school in Sept.

I'm just so glad he has a place at Ashlawn even if it is non Selective, all his friends passed and are going to LSS. He was so pleased to find a friend from outside school who is in the same position.

And maybe, he really wasn't clever enough to pass.

There should be a new thread on here. Tutoring definitely increases your dcs chance of passing.

Hi Rugbymumto2

How did you work out the 128/444 ranking for ginx? Was is 100 - 71 = 29. Then 29 x 4.44 = 128.76?

My DS was in 86th percentile, so he would be ranked 62/444?

More or less
1-0.71 =0.29
× 444 = 128.76

Your DS did well

Just a round up of the results posted so far for reference:

432 - 92nd percentile
427 - 86th percentile
426 - 85th percentile
424 - 81st percentile
422 - 77th percentile
419 - 74th percentile
418 - 71st percentile
416 - 70th percentile

Not quite sure how Ashlawn work out the percentile as there doesn't seem to be a pattern I can see above...

On another note: previous years AQS below for reference:

2015 Entry MFL AQS - 414
2014 Entry MFL AQS - 411
2013 Entry MFL AQS - ???
2012 Entry MFL AQS - 424

I don't have any data for other years, please feel free to update.

2012 (I think the first year), the aqs was 424, waiting list from 415 I think. This information was sent in the letter with the eleven plus score/ranking in October. I don't think the percentile was mentioned, just the score.

This was the year LSS and RHS increased their intake from 90 to 120. I don't know if that was relevant.

419 is 74th centile so there must be around 13/14 on that score for 418 to be 71st
