We're in that awful position of most of DS's friends knowing results but we still haven't got ours! Picking up as much as we can from people's comments. I read that the results are presented with weighted areas of the exam- verbal is 50% while non-verbal and numeracy are 25%. Sorry for being a bit slow with this- but where's the other 25% ?

Verbal is 50% and Non verbal 25% and Numeracy 25%.
In the past they were equaly weighted 33.333% each but that was pulling in more mathematically able pupils (Non verbal tends to suit mathematicians!) whereas ability in Verbal is so very important for History/Geog/RE etc etc etc and also possibly a more innate test of ability as language is acquired over time, rather than maths that can be taught by rote more quickly.

Thank you- that's made things clearer. We'll be more prepared for results now... or so I think!
