WCC feedback on rankings required 2016 to secure a GS place

Post by JMW »

This information see below from WCC may be of help working out the rankings this year for the 11 plus and whether you dc stands a chance this year..This is the reply I got from the Wcc 11plus team. I did not ask for girls info but they will always need lower rankings for sggs than kes as there are more places at sggs. Info was for entry last year on 1st March 2016, so off the waiting list the rankings will be even lower

Good Afternoon

Thanks for your email.

Please find the information you requested below.

The lowest ranking offered for KES on 1st March -

Out of all children - 433 out of 2792
Out of all Boys - 239 out of 1367

The lowest ranking offered for AGS on 1st March -

Out of all children - 988 - 2792
Out of all boys - 510 out of 1367

This is interesting- thanks for the information. Are these results for 1st March 2017 though? I.e. Those that took the exam in September 2016 but allocated March 2017.

Looking at the scores achieved this year for similar rankings-

A score of 232 this year was ranked 425 out of 2930 all children
And 213 out of 1482 all boys. (This is the most similar ranking score I found for this year so ?? Indicated AQS stays at about same for KES)

A score of 214 this year was ranked 992 out of 2930 all children
And 490 out of 1482 all boys. (This is the most similar ranking I found for this year so possibly indicates AQS will go up by about 2 points

I wonder whether AQS for KES may even go to 231 especially as the PAN went up to 87 this year (I know they took 87 last year but it was only announced after 1st March so places had already been allocated based on PAN of 82 I think)
Who knows though - there are so many other variables!!

I think PANs will go up across the board - probably by two points, in the south at least! But just my guess! Remember at KES up to 13 places can be allocated to PP at 20 points below AQS (if memory serves me right), so it can be a bit fuzzy round the edges of PAN.

Sorry - PAN was 81, so 6 extra places now. Also last year's AQS for AGS was 213 last year ( I thought it was 212 but just checked the letter!) so maybe will only go up 1point this year.

Hi
So looking at above posts , is the score of 220 good enough for the AQS in AGS.
thanks

As you have been told on the other thread, nobody can say that for certain. Based on previous years it looks OK but that is no guarantee and WCC specifically say that being above past years AQSs is no guarantee of a place this year.
