It's that time of year again! The Shakespeare Birthday Parade, this morning in Stratford upon Avon! The Parade is lead out by the students of KES, from Shakespeare's old school, along the riverside (past Carluccios) and up Bridge Street and back towards the school. Each student carries a small posy of flowers (usually blue and gold), which get laid on Shakespeare's grave in Trinity Church. There are dignitaries from all over the world here, escorted by the students, and lots of things to see and do in Stratford. There is the first Living Statue competiton going on in the Bancroft Gardens (I think!) and lots of performances from acting troupes - most of which are completely free! It is also a sunny morning (although rain is forecast later!) If you haven't been it is well worth a trip, but be aware that the roads through Stratford are closed to traffic, so park outside and walk in. If you are joining KES in Y7, come along and see what you wil be doing next year! It is a 3 line whip to take part (although the Parade falls in the Easter holidays next year, boys are requested, right from before they start in the school, to attend!)
