I've just seen (Rugby Advertiser) that Lawrence Sheriff are opening a new school on the outskirts of Nuneaton. They are hoping to open it in four years' time - doesn't say whether it will be grammar.

Just thought I'd let you all know!

I believe it's planned to be a primary school, and LSS is acting as a sponsor. As an academy I believe they are looking to move towards becoming a multi academy trust, so having a second school within the trust would do that for them - I don't know the benefits of doing so but presume there's money involved ;)

The article says it will eventually take 1,200 kids, so it sounds like a high school, or maybe a very large primary! I expect they will put out some more info about it soon.

Ah, I read some old articles about it so perhaps their plans have moved on since then!

I think so - just searched for The Sheriff School, and it's definitely going to be a secondary school. :)

They'll have to get govt approval first, and I know of at least one other application in that area to open a secondary school so nothing's definite yet.
