Correct grammar

Post by Fatandfifty »

I have posted on here before joking about my lack of education with the comment that I am uneducated, oops ill-educated! Reading the Sunday papers today I have found two journalists that have used both options and am now curious as to which is the correct grammar. Could you please enlighten my 'bog standard comp' knowledge?

Many thanks.

The expression "uneducated" means no education at all, either completely or in a specific area.

Ill-educated means educated but to a poor standard.
