Not trying to scaremonger...

I have a friend who has been having problems with her breast for over a year now. despite numerous visits to her surgery, she wasn't taken particularly seriously. I don't want to go into too much detail for a variety of reasons.

It wasn't until I told my sister (former breast care nurse) who spoke to my friend and encouraged her to turn up at the surgery and not leave until she was referred, that something actually happened.

Today she received devastating news. It should have been dealt with a long time ago.

Please make yourselves aware of what is normal for you, and become aware of any changes. If you think that there is a problem, MAKE them take you seriously.

To be fair and balanced, my sister thought that this was incredibly unusual that my friend had been treated in this way. Most GPs are thorough and treat these matters seriously.
