What happens if your child is already at a grammar school and you need to move area. Impossible due to distance to keep at same school.

If the new area has grammar schools will they take you subject to space????

Hi KJ,

It depends on the school/area policy.
In Bucks for example, the child would have to take the 12+, 13+ etc.., in other area they will be just be transferred.

Hope this helps

If it is for KS4 [Y10 or Y11 or even late in Y9] the school will give curriculum tests in Buckinghamshire.

I remember testing pupils from Kent Grammars who did not get places in the Grammar School where I taught.

Glad to help - if you are planning a move to Buckinghamshire there may not be a place at a Grammar School of your choice as most are full. You may get in on appeal but this is not guaranteed.

Which county are you planning to move to as there may be more we can do to help you and your child?
