Cambridge University 'rejecting more state school students'

The Cambridge PR machine worked hard to try and let us believe they are becoming more inclusive but sadly its still not the case

Among British students, 58 per cent of undergraduates were from state schools and 42 per cent were from the fee-paying sector, even though fewer than one-in-10 children nationally are privately educated.

It's not the uni's fault....

You need to make good choices with the subjects taken.

Indies are very clued up in this area and seldom offer students weaker options.

We have an excellent comp locally (not our catchment one), that two years ago got 100% A-C and still scores very highly.It got an outstanding Ofsted etc.I was shocked to see in the local paper that this year , for the first time ever, one of their students got into Cambridge.
This is a school that regualarly produces students with a string of A*s.They should have had a lot of students achieving this already.Clearly there is an advice/guidance gap in some state schools, in getting their cohort to the best Unversities.
