German exchange success

Just a quick update on my previous post as our German exchange student has now been and gone!
I must say, he was fantastic! Couldn't have asked for a nicer boy and he was a perfect match for DS and our family and settled in very quickly. Spoke to some other parents who had students who didn't really talk much and just gave 'yes' or 'no' answers to their questions and was mightily relieved that ours was a fun-loving, mischievous chatterbox just like my DS and my older DD!
He ate everything I cooked for him (apart from baked beans on his fried breakfast!) and threw himself into all the activities we had planned. He arrived with presents for all of us which we weren't expecting and in return we sent him home with a scrapbook filled with photos and memories of his time with us which we had secretly made for him. He gave me a big hug as he was leaving and I even felt a bit emotional!
He has now been gone a couple of days and my DS is quite downcast and I think we all feel the a bit the same! DS is counting the days til March when he will go to Germany for a return visit!

Thank you Chardom,

We have a German Exchange girl arriving next month and I really liked the scrap book idea, in fact I will pinch it and pretend I thought of it myself.
