Hi All

Just wondering how to use and get the best value from my Tesco Clubcard points.

I have telephoned hotels in the past and they seemed to be quite expensive through the scheme.

What does everyone else use their points for ?

English Heritage membership, DD's subscription to National Geographic kids, ferry crossings and trips to Cafe Rouge when the kids deserve a meal out! |

We've used ours for Isle of Wight ferry crossings for the last couple of years. Not going there this year so will save and use for a treat in the summer holidays.

I find the same with booking Hotels. Book it online and they can be great value but as soon as you ring up and want to pay with the Clubcard Voucher it goes up!

We also have magazine subscriptions and days out to the zoo, oh and meals too.

Also just got a piece of furniture in the 'double up' promotion. This sounds like I get alot of points!!! The trick has been to buy things with extra points. I did this at Christmas, bought an Ipod for DS with 2000 extra points but the week later the offer had changed to 2500 extra points. I was gutted so took the first one back for a refund and bought it with the higher 'extra' points only to be awarded both lots, what a result!!!! £45.00 in vouchers plus those awarded for the purchase price anyway

I always just convert mine to airmiles and then forget about them. Last year we paid for a family trip to Rome and a couple of years ago we managed to get about 50% off a holiday to Greece. I'm not sure this is the best way to use them, but we would certainly not have been able to afford to go otherwise so in an sense I guess I use them as a holiday savings fund. This year it will pay for flights for a family trip to Amsterdam. I do a huge amount of doubling up....
