Hi all, does anyone know what kind of footwear would be considered suitable for astroturf? The list already includes non-marking trainers otherwise I'd have just assumed trainers...

I think (bt I'm no expert  ) that they are the ones with sort of bobbly rubber studs rather than the full studs. Very technical I know. I'm sure if you looked on any sports website it would have them so you could check.

I second that Scary Mum. Apparently they can also be worn on grass. :)

What sport is it for?

You can get specific astroturf footwear for different sports eg football/hockey.

My DSs have used normal trainers on astroturf without too much hindrance.

DD's look like football boots but instead of the removable studs the sole is covered in small rubber studs. They are generally used for football, rugby and hockey.

The non-marking trainers are used for indoor activities in the gym, netball and athletics.

What a coincidence! I asked the same question this time last year when my DD1 started GS. Everyone who responded were very helpful. Yes, all the above info is correct and you can purchase both items at a reasonable price from Sports Direct.

There is a wide variety of astro boots at various price ranges at the big sports shop that sounds like an olympic event that is near the Swedish furniture shop at start of M6. Astro boots also seem ok as hockey boots on dry turf which is too hard for big studs.

 Understood. I love these puzzles, I don't care what Sally-Anne says about being allowed to use the names!

I agree .I think they're also good practice for some aspects of verbal reasoning.
