I was just looking at league tables and got a bit confused.

If you then do a search by Education Authority and look at the same column (A/AS points

Can someone please explain where the different figures come from.

It's been a long day at work and I'm probably missing something simple.

The BBC web pages are a bit of a mess. The table you've linked to is top 200 according to total GCSE points - although the description says something completely different, the table isn't in score order and the Info button says it's AS-A-level points .

In a not-at all-random sample of three schools I tried from that list, the numbers on that one match the DofE site.
