Confused over league tables

I was just looking at league tables and got a bit confused.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-16729387" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; this shows the top 200 schools ranked in order of the Average Point score and when you press on the info tab on this it says 'Average point score
The average number of points netted per pupil at the institution taking AS/A-level or equivalent qualifications'

If you then do a search by Education Authority and look at the same column (A/AS points
The average number of points netted per pupil at the institution taking AS/A-level or equivalent qualifications), they have different figures.

Can someone please explain where the different figures come from.

It's been a long day at work and I'm probably missing something simple.

The BBC web pages are a bit of a mess. The table you've linked to is top 200 according to total GCSE points - although the description says something completely different, the table isn't in score order and the Info button says it's AS-A-level points  .

The AS/A-level table is at:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-16730014

In a not-at all-random sample of three schools I tried from that list, the numbers on that one match the DofE site.
