Will the raising of the school leaving age to 18 have an impact on your choice of secondary education?

Will this mean that all children entering a school in year 7 will be entitled to stay until they are 18 years old? Currently my local school does not allow this, there are minimum entry requirements for the sixth form. Will this change?

It's to make the unemployment figures look better. Less children leaving school at sixteen and claiming the dole. Unfortunately, not good for the economy if those who would prefer to leave and work/pay taxes are forced to stay on. Because people are living longer these days, there will not be enough taxpayers to balance the books with the increased numbers claiming pensions. Making people fund a private pension will address this issue. Wait a minute, isn't that what this government is proposing - every child to put their tuck money into a pension plan, rather than spend it on sweets? Before you know it, there will be a black market in tuck sweets; run by those forced to stay at school beyond 16.
