This programme follows families in the UK with some of Britains cleverest kids. Looks interesting. It's on Channel 4 at 9pm tonight.

I don't know whether the programme is any good but I love the trailer. "You're definitely in the top 5% of irritating children" has already been worn threadbare in our house and the programme hasn't even been on yet...

...and them Channel4 using all BME children, really playing to the stereotype to get ratings and more people yelling at TV.

Good TV I am sure it will be, but I already feel sorry for the families. Not sure they understood what they were putting themselves up to. It will be interesting viewing so I have it all set.

Yeah one of my cats is definitely a genius. Walked, miaowed and purred long before other cats and can definitely understand when the food tin is about to come out. I am hoping for a programme about it so I can show her off and bask in the reflected glory of my amazing feline care skills too.

Not sure about the other one - we think he has a learning disability as well as ADHD and some kind of OCD. Wonder if anyone at C4 is up for a programme on cats with special needs.

I will watch that one too, scary - though hope they use time-lapse photography to try and make something appear to be happening. My cats seem to spend most of the day staring at hedges or down holes; walking six paces and then sitting down for a rest; or sleeping on a soft place where they aren't meant to be for hours at a time. Can't imagine that being very compelling TV myself.

Sounds like Big Brother for cats.

Possibly the most exciting cat-related activity we have ever experienced was the time that one landed on me from a great height (or at least the shelf about six feet up in the alcove on my side of the bed) at three in the morning. Not even our cat but the Blue Burmese / tabby cross from next-door-but-one, which had been socialising with one of ours on the sofa during the evening. Obviously, come bedtime DH and I had each thought that the other had let him out...

None of the cats we have shared our life could be said to have been a Genius Child - in fact, the tortie whose friend landed on me in the night was so dim that I bought her a Winnie the Pooh badge (for "bear" read '"cat" of very little brain' ).

Socialising on the sofa?!! What a feline sociable neighbourhood you have?! The cats around here are fierce. Mine regularly comes hurtling through the electronic cat flap with next door tabby in hot pursuit. When my little one had unknowingly switched the flap 'off' he hit the glass with such force during one flight, he looked dazed for days! Definitely not a contender for genius!

Sorry to boast but my cat is studying calculus and reading Virgil's Aeneid at the moment.Other notable hobbies include chasing squirrels and even a fox which shows she is more than average .

But about the show- I love the smell of new books...
