Has anyone got experience of prescription goggles. Both DD and I are shortsighted, I really struggle to see without my glasses or lenses, DD not so bad ATM but I think she would benefit from being able to see more clearly.

Dd you get them from your opticians or buy online? Seems to be various online people selling them.

We got DD's from the opticians. They are really worth the money if your DC has poor eyesight. Prior to this, my DD could not see anything that was thrown into the water for the students to collect from the bottom of the pool.

I learnt to dive without a prescription mask and once I invested in one it was a revelation - they wouldn't let me wear lenses whilst learning. The dive shop sold masks with a choice of prescription for each eye. I would expect a decent optician to be able to help

Our local specialist swimming shop sells the Fashy brand (available -1.5 to -8.0 diopters each lens separately, according to their website). DH is as blind as the proverbial without glasses out of the water but manages perfectly well in it with these "off the peg" ones :)

I bought off the internet, just using details from a current subscription. Fine for an occasional swimmer.

Thanks everyone.
I ordered on line in the end (considerably cheaper than opticians, especially since she is likely to throw them around, she doesn't swim loads and her eyes may change) and they arrived today. She is happy with them as she can see!! Now she wants to go swimming to try them out. They seem like a very good quality pair of goggles.
