Multiple schools asking for the same original documents

We're applying to a few schools that require original baptism certificates but there's obviously only one to go around. How do people get around this, do you stagger the entries & hope they return them to you promptly or just send in a photocopy & hope they don't make a fuss over it?

I haven't been in that situation but TBH I hate having to send original certificates anywhere. If the schools are local then how about taking the cert in and letting them copy it themselves and handing the original back to you.

Or any solicitor or notary public can do you a "certified true copy" of a document. These are acceptable but come at a cost.
