60 hour weeks are pretty normal tbh. I started working full time in the private sector last year and I often do 60 hours a week. Don't get 13 weeks holiday a year though
Although often when I do have holidays I still have to log on and complete outstanding issues.
I think it is the way of the world nowadays - the more you can do, the more you do. Teaching is no different and if you extrapolate the wages over the weeks at work, it's not that bad a deal.

Teachers don't get 13 weeks holiday per year either. 12 weeks when they can have the flexibility to work from home, start a little later, etc. some of that time is holiday.
