Religious Studies HPQ

Post by faitaccompli »

Help! My son is doing an RS HPQ and in typical boy fashion, has no idea what he is meant to be doing and when. I don't want to have to ask the school, but am having problems finding anything sensible on the internet.

Can anyone tell me exactly what is required.

I can't work out if he needs to write a 2000 word essay, whether there needs to be a powerpoint presentation to go with it - there are so many different version of what is required I am completely confused.

As I said, I really don't want to have to ask the school, and he is in the middle of exams and "forgets" every day to find out what is required.

Any help would be much appreciated!

You'll need to know the board and level, yes, I think it is EPQ.

If he doesn't understand it then he should be finding out, not you! Part of the point of an HPQ or EPQ is that they learn to research plan and present information themselves. He needs to understand the process and the school is the best person to tell him that...

I understand that. However, due to issues I do not want to go into right now, I need to find out what it is he should be doing.

Is there a (reliable) parent of a (reliable - ie will have informed said parent accurately re what they are meant to be doing) fellow pupil you could check with? Or is there anything about it on the school's website - curriculum details for relevant year / key stage?

At the end of the day, though, he does need to be doing the right thing, so one of you will probably have to bite the bullet and speak to the RS teacher, especially if there are is more than one possible 'pathway' to be followed.
