Brilliant news Amber; why do companies have to make life so difficult?

However, it's a warning for everyone to make sure any holiday before uni is covered if it goes iinto September.

Hurray for Amber and young Miss Amber. Insurance companies seem to wriggle out of as much as they can :(

Great news, Amber. If you need help finding someone to do a certified translation to keep the insurance company happy, just drop me a PM. No need to go through an expensive agency!

Thank you Marylou. The language in question is OH's mother tongue, but clearly someone at the insurance company speaks it better than he does. It is an odd thing for them to have quibbled as the sum in question is tiny compared with the overall amount. I think maybe someone likes the feeling of power...

And talking of customer service, no one actually told us this - OH called the company asking how the claim was progressing and that is how the 'problem' came to light.

Anyway the requisite bit of paper is now winging its way to them so we await with bated breath.

Sorry about the holiday but good that you will get it refunded. Hope all well with your daughter now and congrats on her results.

The cheque - for the full amount - has arrived. :D :D :D

I haven't seen it with my own eyes as I am working away from home but intend to take champagne with me when I go back tomorrow night.

Just wanted to thank you all for your support - I was at quite a low place when I started this thread, and the responses were really helpful and made me feel I had to act.

Thanks all xx

Excellent result. I think a stubborn streak is required when dealing with insurances companies.
