'The Long Walk ' - based on the life of Sławomir Rawicz - a Polish army lieutenant captured by the Russians in WW2.My son read it in yr 7 /8 and was both gripped and moved by it.(Not strictly an 'autobio' but was written by an author who had lengthy conversations and meetings with Rawicz.
