Hazards on driving theory
Hi,
DC have been told by friend who failed the hazard section of the theory test that it was 'impossible'.
Anyone with DC who have passed this have any hints before DC flunk too?

My DS got through first time.
He used the clips online to practise as you need to 'click' at the right time and not too often.

I get the impression it's a bit like GCSEs, exam technique can make all the difference! DD showed me one clip with cows in the distance on a country road. She clicked as soon as she saw them - proper hazard perception in my book - but this was marked as incorrect. To get the mark she needed to click when she was much nearer the 'hazard'.
Re: Hazards on driving theory
Above friend clicked too late! DS showed me one with a van that I couldn't see as it was white against a white sky. I got 1/5 as did DS. Guessing we should have clicked when we saw the side road. He's practicing at the moment but not very successfully!
Re: Hazards on driving theory
This theory test seems fraught with hazards
DD will be taking hers shortly, driving lessons already begun. One friend of hers just sat it without revising - and passed it

Quick aside to snowdrops - am now a mother in law
Hazard pereception was hardest part for all mine. Practice and keep practising. The timing is everything - you need to get into their mindset.

I agree - DD failed on hazards the first time, then it suddenly clicked what they were looking for & she was away. Practice as much as possible.

It's nothing but practice, practice and more practice-there's lots of free websites which we found useful two odd years ago. Try doing as much as you physically can, every time you get a spare moment (and until you see it in your sleep )

Oooooh, congratulations KB Does it feel any different? We've had two years to get ready, and now it seems like it's just around the corner, i'm very aware once Christmas is over it'll be all hands to the deck!
