Most 6th forms don't have uniform so you might have to shell out for suits anyway
scary mum
Re: GCSE- Mocks vs The real thing
We have just been to my year 11 son's parents evening, having got his mock results just before Christmas. We were told categorically that GCSE mock marking is deliberately the toughest marking that the children will have ever come across. The exams are marked meanly, and we were told he should expect to go up a grade for each one if he keeps up the work and prepares properly. As daogroupie (I think!) said above, the worst outcome would be a string of A* grades at this stage, as with boys in particular that might encourage them to coast. Hope that helps. It certainly helped us!
Re: GCSE- Mocks vs The real thing
scary mum I just misread that as shell suits
Re: GCSE- Mocks vs The real thing
Shell suits you are really cheering me up!!
Yes , some wear suits or casual gear but a couple that I am considering do still wear uniform.
Peridot, I am clinging to that hope

Re: GCSE- Mocks vs The real thing
Update- I contacted school and they were very reassuring. Offer will be made on the basis of predicted grades and expectation is that actual grades will go up by at least 1 from mock. So offer will be made he just needs to get the grades. V relieved.
