Hi

Could do with some recommendations please for Ds (yr 7) currently reading The Perks Of Being A Wallflower which he's loving. He's read The Fault in our stars, maze runner, divergent, etc.

I've looked on Amazon at Its A Funny Kind of Story, the manifesto on how to be interesting and Thirteen Reasons Why and think he'd like them but don't know if they're a bit heavy theme wise - has anyone / their dc read them?

Also any recommendations for coming of age style books with male characters?

Thank you :)

Not sure that it answers the questions but ds is reading the Carnegie shortlist http://www.lovereading4kids.co.uk/genre ... naway.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Loads of books for boys on that website.

Thank you - yes some great books but not quite his "thing" - he's more teenage-angsty if I'm honest. That said has your Ds read Tinder yet? Ds enjoyed Maggot Moon (as did I)

Yes, he enjoyed Tinder though took him a while to figure out what was going on.

Has yours read the Cherub series?

One of the Y8 boys I work with is reading and loving The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole. He has even brought it up in discussions about diary writing in English and how it talks about teen issues.
