Re: Life Challenge ideas please?
What a good idea, Eccentric,,and how necessary! I let DS (13) and DD (10) catch the Northern Line into town this week by themselves to go to a book reading at Embankment. I was a bag of nerves until they called to say they were safe but now I know they could, in an emergency, get about on the Tube.
How about something that involves supporting her local community? You could give her £10 and challenge her to increase this through fundraising for a local charity of her choice? Or commit to spending one afternoon a month at a local old people's home or children's ward. Showing my children the value and benefit of helping others from an early age is something we are committed to as a family.

One of mine would head straight for the Old sweetie shop in West Wycombe, given half a chance he'd walk there, despite the distanceEccentric wrote:Something a friend of mine did was to let her child be the adult for the day and be responsible for organising everything. They live in town so the child was able to shop etc. so I was thinking that I could charge a taxi fare for getting anywhere.
