I've remembered one from Chemistry O level - something to do with reactivity

'Please send cars, Morris and Zodiac, in lorries Harry come Monday, Sunday's gone'

Potassium, sodium .... silver, gold

More musical ones:

'Father Charles Goes Down And Enters Battle'

'Battle Ends And Down Goes Charles's Father'

Used in our house are:

Most very elderly men just snooze under newspapers - order of planets
Big elephants can add up sums easily - because
Musical lines -every good boy deserves football and Face - spaces
Kangaroos play cellos, orangutans flutes, gorillas sing - biology classification

Growing up in the town of the tractors boys I was taught to spelt my address with:
I put some water in Charlie's hat
Silly uncle fred fell over lucy's kitten.

At last I've remembered my SOHCAHTOA mnemonic... it came to me on the way to work yesterday after weeks of blooming 'Silly Old Harry' in my head!

Silly Old Harry, Caught A Herring, Trawling Off Afghanistan

DS looked at me puzzled... "but Afghanistan is landlocked," he said.

I replied, "Silly Old Harry!"

This thread may end up getting printed out and displayed on my kitchen door...
It felt like I hit rock bottom; suddenly, there was knocking from beneath... (anon.)

No plan like yours to study history wisely

and also

When will his stupid head remember just how easy each endeavour remains having had help? Eclipsing every .... something something something ... with a great grand gravity giving wit vexation.

Does anyone know the missing bits?

Try googling - I found the rest:

Eclipsing every reasoning, harrassing, hazy, egotist's method,
Elaborately jumbling, clear concise junctures,
With a great grand gravity giving wit vexation'

I am certainly gathering all of these examples together so I can pass them on as and when they are needed :D

I'm guessing that's for remembering kings and queens of England? Aren't there a few missing from the end as well though?

Also, is it just me, or are some of these mnenonics just as hard to remember as the actual facts?! :?

Yes - there is an updated ending for the Kings and Queens if you google it.

I agree! The point of them is to help you remember not make something else just as complicated ...

So the main part of it was devised back in Victorian times then? No wonder it sounds like some verbose nonsense from an old music hall act! "Elaborately jumbling, clear concise junctures"

Needs updating a bit for today's yoot!

Although as an aside remembering this sort of factual knowledge is far less important than it once might have been, now that we all carry round our own personal, talking encyclopedias in our pocket!
