Re: Shakespeare celebrations 2016
My dc4 and 5 just went this evening to an RSC performance of The Tempest at St Alban's Academy, Birmingham.
Dh took them and said it was a really well performed show and my boys age 7 and 9 sat completely transfixed through the full 1.5 hours.
I'm glad I booked (it was free).
However he was a little dismayed that the audience was mainly adults rather than children and that some children were leaving part way through
Still...small steps I guess.

What a pity I have no time to read books outside a certain list ;I really wish to read this one, even though it is a children book! I am curious to see how the author has managed to give young ones of all abilities a story they can relate to, as well as providing valuable background about life at The Globe.um wrote:Still...small steps I guess.

If someone cannot wait until it transfers to London from 30 June, they can go and catch #RSCTempest in a cinema not too far from their home tomorrow, as more than 160 venues will be showing encore screenings across the country.
Find a cinema and book tickets:

A series of five talks on Shakespeare and the brain.Very cerebral the first one I listened to.The lectures may aid others in their studies or be of general interest.

Time to rename the thread Shakespeare celebrations 2017!
If interested and the weather is nice this week end, your family may enjoy Shakespeare's Circus in Stratford-upon-Avon and celebrate his 453rd birthday.
