Funky loud suit

Post by Tinkers »

Ok forumites, I'm in need of your assistance again.

DD is in the school production, Guys and Dolls, she is playing one of the men.

She has been told she needs a funky, loud suit. The 'louder' the better.

Google so far is not being my friend, although DD and I will keep trying, but if anyone has any bursts of inspiration for us, they will be gratefully received.

(Note we can both sew, but not sure when either of us will fit in the time.)

Thanks guys. She is reasonably tall and size 8 so not sure a man's suit will fit too well.

I think I've now found a white suit that should fit though and cheap enough to consider dyeing it. Although she now tells me they can have a relatively plain suit and a very bright shirt instead.

(Apparently she isn't keen on the bright yellow though. )

Alternatively, perhaps you could consider hiring a costume? I've no idea how much it costs, but one of the things that came up in google for 'theatre costumes for hire' was this place: http://www.berkshiretheatrecompany.co.uk/costume-hire" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;:
Costume Hire
We hire out costumes for variety shows, specific productions, cabarets and fancy dress parties.
Please email our costume department at info@berkshiretheatrecompany.co.uk for more info.
There are bound to be more places like that and some probably less prominent so likely cheaper.
It felt like I hit rock bottom; suddenly, there was knocking from beneath... (anon.)

Thanks, that's not too far from us either.

Do you know anyone in a local Am Dram group? They will know good local sources of costumes.
