German language school
DD2 is going to start her German A level next year and would like to attend a residential language course in Germany this summer. Can anyone recommend a good one? What should I look for in a course? She has a cousin in Berlin who would be happy to have her come and stay. Thank you!

There are Goethe courses for specific age groups - however they look like they are mainly booked up (and a bit pricey) https://www.goethe.de/ins/de/en/jug/tup.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A quick Google pulls up this one, which I think looks quite good: https://kapitel-zwei.de/en/german-langu ... ve-course/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Reasonably priced, small groups, a good star-rating (not to be relied upon, but possibly helpful) and all tuition is entirely in German from the start. 12 hours a week, so plenty of time for immersion in German culture (!) and to explore Berlin and beyond.

Thanks: both of these options look excellent but she doesn't want to go for more than a fortnight, so we will find her a private tutor to see her when she is there.
Re: German language school
DD's school uses this company for work experience trips and it seemed to work really well, though it might be an option for next summer rather than this:

Re: German language school
For anyone following this to pick up ideas: DD started two weeks today at the Tandem school in Berlin: http://www.tandem-berlin.de/index.php/en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
3.5 hours a day for ten days for 350 Euros: small groups, focus on conversation and she thoroughly enjoyed it this morning despite being up half the night after a very delayed flight. There are other teens that she finds friendly, but some of the cultural outings are more suited to adults and she'll give those a miss.
She's met three Spanish sisters who have rented an apartment for a fortnight to attend the classes. Last year they did the same to learn French in Paris, and she is enthralled by how cosmopolitan life can be. Result.

Great result, thanks for letting us know how it turned out.
