Correcting expletives in personal messages

Post by Amber »

I have just sent a PM to someone I PM a fair bit and for various reasons wanted to use some mild expletives. The PM now looks like a snowstorm on a weather map, there are so many asterisks. I can see why f-ing and blinding are discouraged on the forum (almost as much as mentions of a particular school in Herts, or scores in Bucks), but is there any reason I can't use the b word in a PM?

I don’t think the software can distinguish between public and private posts.

Gosh so I had better not mention that school in PMs either!

Fair enough. Creative spelling needed.

I may be mischief-making. It's all got a bit serious down in Gloucestershire. We need to be able to swear.

I think Gloucs should be allowed to use expletives at present however "computer says no" so you will just have to use smilies (or grumblies)

You need to be more specific.

Are we talking about a female dog, an illegitimate person or a pair of male genitalia?

BTW what's going down in Gloucs to merit all this profanity?
