Warm school tights for secondary school

Hi, can anyone please suggest anywhere to get warm tights for a girl at secondary school?

JL school tights are great and now go up to age 13-15 but we're finding them too short so I'm looking for alternatives. We are looking for the "thick knit" type not the "opaque" type. Ladies sizing might be too wide on the hips but I'm willing to give it a try.

Thanks in advance

Primark? M&S?
Both do small, which I'm sure would be fine.

Tesco’s do some brilliant ones.
They have a sort of fleecy lining.

Primark do those, as well :).

Bear in mind
1) classrooms can be boiling hot or freezing cold. M&S have a range that keep you cool or hot and they do seem to work but they do fall into the opaque category - but can come in 80 denier or thicker so not see through at all.
2) will other girls be wearing woolly tights? Whilst wearing something shouldn’t invite ridicule or be a reason not to wear it - sometimes it just has to be taken into account that what was nice and cosy in primary school just doesn’t cut it at Secondary.

DD’s usually done alright with tights from M&S or JL in small women’s sizes. Unfortunately the thermal tights (which I think were fleecy) had a tendency to fall down, so we gave up on those. We’ve found the woolly ones don’t look too bad and don’t seem to have drawn any flak. DD’s favourites are the merino tights  which I snap up if I see them on sale. DD is very hard on tights and these seem to last longest and be the most comfortable.
I spotted some in ‘control top’ variety which might help them stay up better on a slim hipped girl.

Have you tried the '2nd pair of knickers over the top' trick? ( For holding up)
If concerned about ridicule, they can easily be removed in the loo before changing for PE etc.

:D Indeed the double knickers trick has been a handy standby on occasion.

Thanks - useful ideas, will try them out. I think staying warm comes above ridicule in this child's priorities so not so concerned about that (maybe next year it will be more of a problem and we'll be looking for 80 denier tights then).
