Home address fraud

Post by hamp »

Hi Team

I would like to know how one can stop someone from getting a place fraudulently in a grammar school by providing false address. Although they have a home in the catchment area they don't live there. Please advice.

Let the school/local authority know your concerns. Most are very keen to clamp down on fraud and will investigate. Give them whatever details you can.

As soon as possible. Please don’t delay. Often schools are reluctant to withdraw places once a child has started school, but that does mean that another child was denied a school they should have got.

Ah ok. In which case hold off for now, but it would be worth dropping the school/LA an email about your concerns about which address they have used once the CAFs have gone in. Assuming they’re haven’t moved in by then and admissions criteria allow for that.
