Dear all,

Has anyone any experience with or comments on the so-called 'Mozart Effect'?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/parents/feat ... zart.shtml

http://www.acropolis.org/articles/artic ... eng&ID=109

This is around eg playing Mozart to your unborn child in the hope this will enhance their IQ & development.

I ask because I have a friend who is expecting and wondered what people thought would be the best thing for development of VR?

Thanks

Well, I played huge amounts of Mozart to my dd in utero (I'm a flautist) and she is a whizz at NVR. Rubbish at Maths though - shame Bach didn't write muchflute music!

Hope it wasn't me you thought was taking it seriously - I thoughtI was adding a layer to the joke.

Mind you what I posted was true. And actually I do wonder if there's anything in the idea of music helping the neural networks connect. So maybe I did take it seriously after all..........!

tco - OK, I confess, you had me going for a bit. I'm pleased to say that I saw through SVE's masterful post on the Tutor section (although not before I'd decided to knock any thoughts of professional tutoring on the head for my youngest and wondered if I could DIY without him realising it so that he didn't have to admit to having been tutored and lose precious marks...). With yours I just thought it was a post from some poor deranged soul who was suffering from 11+ over-exposure!
