Was a big utube hit awhile ago. Pleased to see they are updating it. Love the stereotypes, mad big hair professor and everyone interested in things going bang! Science is fun.

Maybe this can be the start of our science corner.

I found this site some time ago and then lost it again. When I saw the 'bouncing numbers' on the balancing chemical equations page I remembered why I had lost it  .

Probably useful for enthusiastic lower secondary age and those who need a bit of a confidence boost for GCSE. There are also some A level pages.

Perhaps not recommended for those who suffer from motion sickness

There was a really good programme on the BBC a couple of months ago called something like Chemistry - A Volatile History. I wonder if you can watch it again on I-player. (Sorry that's all rather vague, but it was very good.)

Unfortunately it's no longer on i-player but the website here

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00qbq7f

gives some links to other BBC science output

It was a fascinating series - look out for repeats at odd times on BBC4

Chemistry - a volatile history. Fab way to get across the periodic table to kids.
Have a look at this site too. Not necessarily periodic table but lots of demonstrations of practicals that are not always done in schools these days.

home chemistry.

make indicator liquid by soaking red cabbage, then see it change colour with bicarb (alkaline) and vinegar (acid) test other substances.

Mix bicarb and vinegar and watch it fizz..why?

Google Kitchen Science Experiments there are some good ones there!
