Level 6 sats in year 6

Just wondered if many year 6 children were being put forward for level 6 sats? curious....

I only ask because mine has been forward for them, and I wonder how common it is... He didn't pass the 11plus either but is expected to get a high level 5 in the sats he has taken, hence being put forward for level 6.

not sure, our school didn't do level 6 papers at all

AFAIK primary schools are not allowed to test children beyond Level 5 in the KS2 SATs.

I queried this after my child acheived high level 5s in year 5 and then 'only' level 5 in Y6 and was told that they were not allowed to sit higher papers.

The qcda site is where I had been reading about them after school told me he was to sit them. they must be new then?

they used to do it then stopped it but may have reintroduced it
