CATs in Year 7

I have been told that although the secondary schools will initially look at the KS2 SATs results, they have their own tests called CATs. Can someone tell me what this is and on what subjects? Do we have to prepare for it?

Not all schools do them as they cost money and some teachers don't rate them!!
