Would Maths changes be putting off students?

I've been teaching 30+ years and my department teach the whole syllabus including discussion about where topics lead next - that is the key to great GCSE grades and proper prep for A level. You can do both ... no need to teach to the test.

I am concerned about the changes as they are a backwards step ...
