   Rosey

Even DH is sniggering like a little boy again!

Horror of horrors - I bumped in to the Mum of a schoolmate of DS1 - year 9 - today. Dad has taken him out to buy condoms.

What a sensible move, but how scary is that?

Excellent Rosey......puts everything in perspective......

S-A

Did you say Year 9.... no surely not......my DS is Year 9... really, really scary.
(A very sensible dad though....hope my ds feels secure enough to talk to me or his dad .....hopefully not in the next couple of years though...)

Hi Belinda

Know just how you feel :)
Been through the starting A level trauma once - he is off to Cambridge this week so it came right in the end! - and now doing it again with No.2.

Think it takes most of them a while to adjust to different way of working & the big jump in the standard required.
Mine also adjusting to a different environment.

I'm the world's worst but do think we just need to 'hang on in there', try to keep lines of communication open and provide as much stability at home as is possible - they seem so grown up much of the time but I put alot of the behaviour down to insecurity - still children really :)

If there is no sign of improvement by November might be worth a chat with school (if they don't have an official parent consultation arranged)?
(Also worth remembering that new AS/A2 syllabus started this year so maybe that teachers are finding their feet as well?)

Be thinking of you :)
