Old Bond NVR versus NEW Bond NVR

Just obtained a set of the NEW Bond NVR papers. Already had a set of the older Bond papers from 18 months back for child 1. Was hoping that the new papers were, well new. However, other than a very few changes in the questions, they are more or less identical, and in particular have the same number of questions.

But, the time allocated for the NEW papers is 30 mins, whereas the time allocated for the almost identical old papers is 50 mins. This is a massive change.

So which is the more appropriate? Whichever, surely it must indicate that little reliance can be placed on the marks achieved in the practice papers, and demonstrates the very arbitrary nature of the marking schemes and the levels of difficulty.

Actually, I had always thought that the 'allocated time' for the Bond tests was way in excess of other testers time allowed (e.g IPS).
So I think they have actually just been re-aligned with the rest of the sector.

Yes, I have always assigned them 7 minutes per section for Bond in line with the timings allowed in our local NFER exam (i.e. 20 questions in 12minutes which would be 12 questions in 7.2 minutes).
Similarly Learning Together allows 40 minutes but I have had children manage a whole test in 15 minutes, with an average of 28 minutes, and that is scoring 71/75.
