Do these ever come up in the Kent 11+? My DD is finding them very difficult and I don't know if I should carry on or move on to something else. Thanks

They haven't come up as far as I know.

by wanting the best
Two DC have sat the Kent test and they didn't have cubes (DC2 did it this year). We all found them quite hard in the beginning. If you do want to give them a go then cut out nets and let DC fold them and use an actual cube to practise. This helped us.

They have not ever come up _ my ds hated them _ but found on some obscure goggle search last year reference to KCC looking to a new contract for 11+ EXAMINATIONS - as in those who set them. May well be that old contract has been renewed

Strange. Four children I spoke to today (who all passed) said that nets of cubes did come up in this September exam - but they listed some other topics that did not e.g. algebra

So not sure what the truth is!

I was thinking of nets in NVR rather than the maths paper, There may well be nets questions in maths I suppose

DD did the Kent test 3 years ago and she insisted there were no nets/cubes questions in the NVR.
DS did the test September and also said the same.

However, I did cover this topic as it is better to be prepared in case.

if you imagine folding out a cube/3D so that it lies flat on teh table ( e.g an oxo box) then that would be the 'net' of teh shape. Net questions usually ask you to identify which will/won't fold back up into a cube

Hi,

I have sent you a PM with a link to a free sample paper and the cut out and play nets.

There is a detailed explanation in Bond How to do NVR from the bookshop on this site.
