With question 1, I worked out 'c' in a different way.
The direction the central shapes overlap: If they overlap sideways, the two shapes on the outside are at the side. If they overlap above/below, the shapes on the outside are either above or below.
Therefore, c is the odd one out as the shapes overlap above/below but the two outside triangles are at the side.
