Can anyone explain why the answer to this is d rather than c?

As well as moving from 4 white to 4 black circles and triangles, the black shapes move around the box from corner to corner clockwise. D is the one where they should be next.

Ignore the white ones. They're sort of a red herring because there's none of them in the 5th box.
The black ones are moving quarter of a square in each step. And there's one extra black circle and an extra black triangles in each step.
So from 4th to 5th, the circles move up (plus 1 extra circle). The triangles move left (plus 1 extra triangle)
