11 Plus practice Test

Hi there,
Did anyone's child sit the Practice 11 Plus paper in Ripon today?
What did they think of it?

My son sat the one in Skipton which i believe is the same, he said that there were some different questions and it and he also ran out of time. this was unusall because in practise tests he's always finished well ahead.. perhaps nerves?

I did speak to several other parents who said the practise papers are harder than the real thing, they all said their children who'd taken it in the past agreed. Several kids came out of the hall looking rather white.

Connors test is on friday and monday is your childs too?

Hi there,
My daughter sat one of her real tests yesterday, and thought it was the same level of difficulty as the Practice Test.
She also said she knew she had to up her speed on Monday's Test.
There were quite s few children who had dropped out after the Practice Test.

what is this practice test. anyone know of one in barnet ?

North Yorks do a practice test then the real thing a couple of days later and again a couple of days after that. so they have exams on three days in all.
Practice gives all the kids an equal chance to see what the questions are like.
each day is a VR and NVR paper - the kids are credited with the best NVR score of the two "real thing" days and the similar best VR score.

incidentally - I posted before about the discrepancy in scores last year - 204 to meet the cutoff in Ripon and 227 in Skipton
