My 9 yr old son has Asperger's Syndrome and the Ed Psych's report (of February 2010) states:

"10. Based on the outcome of this assessment, there do not appear at present to be any implications for recommending examination access arrangements such as extra time. However, it will be important to monitor the development of x's reading comprehension skills, as well as his reading speed, to ascertain whether he would indeed benefit from such arrangements in the future"

That said, he has AS to a relativity mild degree and is limited more to social communication issues. If your son has other issues it may well impinge on him within an examination situation; in any case, I think most Ed Psych's will mention it in the context of the report they will compile - so do let them know beforehand (we didn't as we didn't know what to expect) of your concern about this issue.
