Just seen this post. As the parent of a child in y13 at Latymer I don't have a sense that there is a problem there. They take on additional children for 6th form and try not to move those on who don't quite make the grade in y11. So no cull like other schools. The 6th form is very large and there is quite a bit of variation in capability. Some children are brilliant some not so and have to work hard to keep up. As has been said good gcses don't translate to great A levels. It isn't a super selective due to the catchment area and this will have an impact. It would be useful to know more about last yrs y13 before saying that their results are a reflection on the school and how all yrs will progress.
