11 plus vocabulary

my son will sit the 11 plus next year for berkshire and buckinghamshire. I wanted to know how to deal with all the vocabulary that needs to be learnt words similar in meaning and opposites.

also can someone advise me on which books and papers to use for the above consortiums

Get them to read, read, and read they will not even realise they are working for the exam. But make sure they either keep a dictionary by the bed to check words they do not know or write them down for later discussion it is invaluable.
