Hi,
Asked this question in berks section but did not receive an answer. Are children allowed to take in rubbers, what happens if they make a mistake?

Rubbers are most certainly allowed in the Bucks exams, although to the best of my knowledge, they are always provided by the school. Rubbers vary in efficiency and where papers are marked by machines (optical readers) it is important that they are very effective.

I am assuming that the same applies to 11+ exams everywhere because the mantra to children is always "if you have time, go back, check your work and change the answer if needs be".

Within Bucks, its one of those variable answers.

1] Some schools provide 2 pencils and a rubber.

2] Some schools allow the children to take in their own pencils [variable from 2 to whatever the child wants] and a rubber.

3] Some schools allow the children to take in their pencil case.

4] Some schools allow "good luck" toys as long as they are small.

I prefer option 2 as the children can take in a good rubber, I prefer the tablet ones. Without a doubt children need a rubber as the child must not cross off incorrect answers, they must be clearly rubbed out.
